A good explainer lets readers trace its claims. This policy describes the standards used for our data stories and practical guides.
Sources and dates
Prefer primary research, official datasets and the organizations responsible for the figures. Link to the relevant report or release, not just the organization’s homepage. Identify the geography, population and observation period. An article’s publication date does not make an older dataset current.
Numbers and visuals
Label preliminary estimates, rounded values and illustrative examples. Keep percentages separate from percentage-point changes. Use consistent comparisons and disclose adjustment bases where relevant. Charts should include readable values or an accompanying table and should not imply a precision the source does not support.
Interpretation
Separate source findings from editorial interpretation. An observational association is not automatically a causal finding. A study from one setting does not describe every market or population. Explain material limits close to the claim.
Assisted drafting
This site’s initial collection was prepared with AI assistance. AI may assist with outlines, drafting, formatting and diagrams. Source-linked factual claims are checked against the cited material during preparation. Readers should use the original source for decisions requiring full methodological detail. We do not describe automated drafting as firsthand reporting or invent interviews, named experts or a reporting staff.
Corrections and updates
Report an issue to admin@liveinfographic.com with the article URL, disputed claim and supporting source. Material corrections should be noted within the article. Dataset revisions should identify the release used. Minor typography changes need not alter the original publication date.
Commercial relationships
The initial editorial collection contains no paid placements or affiliate links. Any future sponsored material or affiliate relationship should be clearly disclosed near the relevant content. A source link is included to support a claim, not as an endorsement of a product.
Scope
Articles provide general information and analysis. They do not offer individualized financial, legal or medical services. Read our privacy policy for information about site data handling.
